第二次世界大戰後，加拿大逐漸放寬華人移民政策。華人憑才幹、技
能、資金，或依親屬等條件移民加拿大者陸續增多。其中不乏來自香港、台灣、星加坡及馬來西亞之本會信徒。早期定居多倫多之復臨信徒，有的赴當地之英語教會聚會，唯繼續與教會保持連繫。但有的信徒或因語言不通，或因文化差異，不易融入主流教會，或為生計奔波而停止赴會，與教會斷絕聯絡者亦不在少數。 TORONTO
CHINESE SDA CHURCH
The
Chinese SDA members in Metro Toronto
first met as a Chinese Sabbath school
class at the Willowdale Church in
1972.
These founding members were
either newly arrived immigrants or
students from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. As
more Chinese SDA immigrants arrived
and made Toronto their home, the
Chinese class grew to approximately 30
in 1980.
Later, worship service in
Chinese was added.
The meeting place was moved
from the balcony of the Willowdale
Church to the music studio, and then
to the cafeteria of the Crawford
Adventist Academy located on the same
compound.
The
Ontario Conference first assigned Pastor Onn Liang as a full-time Chinese
pastor to the Chinese
group in September 1989. His
assignment was to consolidate and
build on the Chinese work that had
begun earlier.
Under his leadership and with
the co-operation of the church
members, the group grew into a company
with 37 members in May 1990, and as a
church with 70 members in January
1992.
With the blessing of the Lord
the church moved into their new church
home in March 1997 and the sanctuary
was dedicated to the service and glory
of the Lord debt-free on May 30, 1998. Pastor
Onn Liang has transferred to Loma
Linda Chinese Church, California, in
September 1999.
Pastor John Lee was assigned to
take his position, and serve until
now.
